Hi, I’m Dan. A creative copywriter.
I’m a senior midweight. Or a junior senior. I guess I’m currently in no (ad)man’s land. Titles were easier in account management.
That’s where I started my career back in London, championing and selling creatives’ work and diplomatically handling feedback like “I’ll know what I want when I see it”. I did this at Karmarama, Lucky Generals, VCCP London and Sydney.
After graduating AWARD School I switched to copywriter, championing and selling my own work and still diplomatically handling feedback like “I’ll know what I want when I see it.” Everything’s changed but a lot’s the same, y’know. I’ve done this at VCCP and now frog (formerly The Works).
I’m certain that my best work is still ahead of me, which is why I treat every brief like an opportunity to get to that, whatever size, shape or ludicrous list of ‘mandatories’ that entails. So I work hard and care harder – and no longer preface my ideas with “here’s my ‘account man’ idea”.
