Visa x AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 — Get on her side

Visa has sponsored women in sport for 20+ years, and as a sponsor of the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup, they wanted to double-down on their commitment to female athletes. To do this in a more impactful way than the standard sponsorship playbook, we exposed a shocking truth and rallied fans to ‘Get on her side’.

We uncovered that 87% of sportswomen received online abuse in the last year alone. We knew it’d continue at the games and we needed to back the athletes when it mattered most. So we took real online comments directed at the players and had male Olympian Flynn Southam ‘perform’ them and clap back at the culprits; making visible the issue and double-standard, and inviting fans to support players on and off the pitch.

We then had Flynn ‘Get on her side’ in real time, reacting to hateful social comments posted during the games with videos kicking back at trolls. It even inspired another Olympian, Scotty James, to get involved, and ignited fans to cheer and champion the players, and drown out the hate with even more support.
